When you think of holiday chalets, do you imagine row upon row of little identical boxes? Think again....Riviere Towans is not at all like that. Every chalet is different, [we call them huts!] and the dunes on which the chalets are built create a refreshingly individual place to spend your holiday.
Up-a-Bank is our traditional-style 2 bedroom beach chalet sleeping up to four...2 adults and 2 children - it's a little gem of a beach hut!!

Totally refurbished in 2017, Up-a-Bank has a new 10 square metre verandah which is completely enclosed, so you can make the most of the view, keep toddlers and dogs safe from wandering, and all the comforts of a modern home - it’s the perfect coastal retreat, and you’ll feel at home within minutes. We've exposed some of the beams, panellled the walls and given Up-a-bank a really cool beach hut feel. Up-a-bank also has lots of original decorative art on the walls. The peaceful Riviere Towans Chalet Camp near Hayle is only 5 minutes' walk from 3 miles of golden sands on the northern part of St Ives Bay. Up-a-Bank is nestled within 30+ acres of sea-front dunes, and is literally "up a bank" meaning it is not always suitable for anyone with difficulty walking. It's a climb of about 5 metres up steps we had cut into a medium grassy slope, and has a great view over towards St Ives, across the bay and Hayle estuary. The play areas where large open spaces keep the young (and young at heart!) happy are a short walk away.

Well behaved owners are allowed to bring 1 similarly well behaved small/medium dog, at an extra cost of £50.00 per week. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on the site, and should not be left alone in the chalet at any time. There's lots to see and do at the pointy end of Cornwall. Nowhere is far away, and whether you're looking for a quiet break and peaceful walks, or an activity packed holiday surfing and building sandcastles, you can find it all here. There are also many restaurants close by offering a fine dining experience, lots of cheaper and great value cafes, and supermarkets from Lidl to M&S are only a 5 minute drive.

Up-a-Bank has an open-plan living area, with comfy new seating, TV and DVD.There is plenty of dining space for 4, and the kitchen has plenty of cupboards/work surfaces, and a fridge, oven, & microwave. The chalet has double glazed windows throughout, and has been completely refurbished with attention to detail which really makes it a home-from-home. 

One small/medium well-behaved dog is welcome. We charge an extra £50 per week to cover the cost of deep cleaning after your stay.

Up a bank is a great place for a couples get away....just the 2 of you in our luxurious little gem, but both bedrooms are cosy, with a double for Mum & Dad, and bunks for children, [they're mini bunks, so better if the kids are not strapping teenagers....you need our other chalet E23 Porthpean for a grown up family] with storage and hanging space.

Please don't forget to bring your own bed linen and towels.

The view is great, and the sun bathes Up-a-Bank in light and warmth  from all directions, but especially the balcony in the afternoon and evening. The sunsets seen from here can be spectacular, as can the sea on a stormy day if you're having a day indoors.

There are two bedrooms: one double with 4’6" bed, and a bunk-room for young ones. All bedrooms have storage and hanging space and the living area has space for a travel cot should you wish to bring one. 

Riviere Towans is located a short drive (or taxi ride) from Hayle where you will find plenty of restaurants, bars & shopping facilities - including the new West Cornwall Shopping Park, with M&S, Boots (with late night pharmacy), Costa Coffee and Next on your doorstep! If you wish to leave the car at home, there is a local shop and pub only five minutes walk from your door. A walk into Hayle takes 15/20 minutes where there is everything from cafes, to antique and vintage shops, takeaways, the best fish and chips in the area, Duckies Cafe and Philps Pasties, which are a MUST!!

There are lots of leaflets and cards in the chalet to guide you to activities like paddle boarding lessons, great restaurants/cafe's and panning for gold! If you can drag yourself away from our beach!!
