Porthtowan
Porthtowan in Cornwall (located between Newquay and St Ives) is a small unspoilt village nestling into cliffs, with a fabulous sandy beach, which is a surfers paradise. Local surf school, ‘Blue Bar’ on the beach and the Unicorn pub both serving good food, local shops and post office. Lovely walks along the coastal path to heritage sites.
The Large Sandy Beach at Porthtowan is perfect for all the family and is patrolled by lifeguards throughout the summer season. For the kids there are rock pools to explore whilst for the energetic Porthtowan is one of Cornwall's renowned surfing beaches. Dogs are welcome on the beach during off season months, but there are plenty of cliff walks for them in the summer.
