Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Cornish countryside you will find our six charming holiday cottages set in large open grounds

Cartole Cottages is the perfect location for those who enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the countryside, yet the bustling port of Looe, the picture postcard fishing village of Polperro and the beautiful Fowey estuary are just ten minutes drive away. If you are looking foran activity holiday eg walking, cycling, fishing, sailing or a relaxing short break to take in the sites and get away from the hustle and bustle, then we are perfectly situated to make your next holiday just right for you.

Our collection of six, 4-star, self catering holiday cottages were converted from the original barns and stables of Cartole Farm which has been part of the Cornish countryside for more than 300 years.

Our well equipped, quality cottages are full of character, some with beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls. They are all well furnished with comfy sofas and beds, quality bed linen, fully fitted kitchens, flat screen TVs, DAB radios with ipod docks and WiFi.

The cottages, which sleep between two and six people, are perfect for families and couples. Our hot tub in its cedar wood cabin and our infrared sauna are a great hit with everyone. On a clear night what better than to view the fantastic array of stars while soaking in the warm water of the hot tub.

For young children and toddlers we have a wonderful grassed play area offering plenty of space to run around and have fun.

Although no longer a working farm we are bordered by beautiful Cornish farm land and there are usually sheep and cattle grazing just over the garden fence. We have a field walk, ideal for exercising your dog or that romantic evening stroll. The walk takes in our pond and seating area, which attracts an abundance of wildlife. Why not bring along your sketch pad or water colours and be inspired by nature, our living willow dome provides a perfect hide.

We know that guests sometimes wish to bring their dog on holiday with them, so we are happy to accept well behaved dogs in the majority of our cottages. Being set in spacious grounds we have plenty of room if you would like to bring your bicycles, car trailer or even your boat.

Cartole holiday cottages are centrally located for easy exploration of Cornwall and Devon, The Eden Project, The Lost Garden of Heligan and many National Trust properties. Why not visit the locations, which inspired Daphne Du Maurier’s and Rosamunde Pilcher’s famous novels.

Choose from our selection of 6 quality self catering holiday cottages near Looe, Polperro and Fowey. All of our cottages have been tastefully converted from the barns and stables of Cartole Farm.

Each cottage has it's own individual charm and character and will accommodate between 2 and 6 people. Our cottages are set in 6 acres of attractive grounds including a field walk and pond with seating area. Conveniently situated just 1 mile from the village of Pelynt with village stores, Post Office and the Jubilee Inn public house. Perfect for those who enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the countryside.

All Cottages Include: Fully fitted kitchens including built in oven and ceramic hob, microwave, refrigerator, (fridge freezers in Caro's, Penny's and Shippen, dishwashers in Caro's and Shippen), flat screen TVs with freeview DVD and Video, DAB digital radios with ipod dock, comfortable seating. Quality bed linen and pocket sprung mattresses. Cottages are heated by either central heating or electric heating and is included from mid September to mid May, available at other times for a small charge. For the comfort of all guests, please note that our cottages are non smoking.

Outside: Your cottage comes with a designated parking space. There is a laundry room with coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer. We have a courtesy freezer and outside drying lines. There is a field walk with pond with seating area and living willow structure. A hot tub and sauna are available for your use as well as outside tables and seating, chimnea, we have a built in BBQ that you are welcome to use and we also have portable BBQs.

For the Kids: Children's play area with trampoline, football goal, basketball hoop, climbing tower with swings and slide. Garden games and toys, including giant connect four and jenga, croquet, cricket etc. Children's bikes and ride on toys, toy store with buckets, spades and nets.

Pets: Well behaved dogs welcome in most cottages by prior arrangement.
