Coombe Mill is family run and managed and the owners are always happy to help, living in the heart of the estate with their own 6 children. 
 
Join Farmer Nick's Little Helpers Club and really get involved with helping out on the morning tractor rides. Watch the children grow in confidence in the countryside and with the animals under the watchful eye of Farmer Nick. the children receive personalised certificates from the farmer at the end of the holiday as a thank you for their help.

The two fishing lakes provide a tranquil backdrop for the holiday angler while the river Camel has Trout and Salmon to fish.

With 30 acres of woodland, gardens and meadows to explore and  indoor and outdoor play areas the children have a wonderful time at Coombe Mill.

Coombe Mill's location, in St Breward near Bodmin, makes an ideal base for exploring Cornwall. Just a short drive from Coombe is the spectacular North Cornish coast with its towering cliffs, pure white sandy beaches and pretty harbour villages. The popular Eden project is half an hour away and there is plenty on the doorstep with pony trekking, indoor pool, pub restaurant, shop and Post office, all available from the village.

Designed for today’s modern family, Eden, Heligan and Pencarrow are new contemporary and spacious properties. With luxury leather sofas and cosy wood burners for chilly evenings, the fixtures and fittings are of the highest specification including a modern fashionable kitchen with the latest home-from-home appliances. They sleep 7 in 3 or 4 bedrooms. All have en-suite master bedrooms and a separate family bathroom.

Trebah and Trevarno are the new generation eco Scandinavian lodges specially designed for a family of 4. They have solar panels to heat the water and a ground source heat pump for efficient heating. The large playrooms are ideal for children.

Millers House

The house is a magnificent 5 bedroom property to sleep 9 people in 2 king size bedrooms, one double, one twin and a single. It is spacious, has 3 bathrooms (2 ensuite) and a separate downstairs toilet. A farmhouse kitchen, living room and grand hall complete the interior. The conservatory leads to a private enclosed patio and garden.

Millers House is ideal for 2 families to share, for bringing relatives or just for those who like space and luxury.

Water Mill

Converted from the original 16th Century Water Mill, this is a spacious and welcoming cottage with period features and all modern facilities. A minstrel gallery and large stylish wood burner give a contemporary feel while the open stonework retains the cottage charm.

Willow is a popular choice for families with babies and toddlers having a play den filled with toys. These cottages are spacious and well equipped with a downstairs bedroom and bathroom which is perfect for grandparents, older child or au pair.  Open plan living room / kitchen, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and play den upstairs and further bedroom and bathroom downstairs.

Two Chimneys

Formerly a 17th century barn, this popular cottage has a welcoming open-plan living room and kitchen with warming wood burning stove. There is a large bathroom, pretty twin bedroom and woodland views from the four poster double bedroom.

The riverside lodges at Coombe Mill all have beautiful views over the river and valley and are surrounded only by lawns and woods ensuring tranquil peace and quiet. All have sunny verandas and their own garden furniture.

The lodges can accommodate from two to six people and have a lounge/dining area, full size bathroom with overhead shower, double bedroom and a choice of twin beds or bunk beds.

These properties are basic and small but provide a great family holiday on a budget.

Join the tractor and trailer ride for the special morning feed run. A chance for the children to experience the magic and freedom of the farm. See them grow in confidence as they help feed the animals under the watchful eye of farmer Nick. Everyone welcome!

After a day out exploring the Cornish countryside, there is always the calm of Coombe to which you can return. An opportunity to relax while the children catch up with new friends, visit their favourite animals together, go fishing or simply play amidst the beautiful grounds and purpose-built play areas.

There is even an indoor play barn for all weather fun. A safe, fully padded soft play area and 'little tykes' climbing frame with slides for young children to enjoy.

Free fishing is available all year round for the exclusive use of our guests but guests must hold an appropriate rod licence. We have two fishing lakes and private river fishing along the banks of the River Camel. There are few limitations on the type of tackle or bait you use or the time of day or night you choose to fish, just come and enjoy!
