About the Bay
The Park is situated in the heart of the St. Austell Bay, just 200 yards from the coastal footpath overlooking the two mile, sandy stretch of Carlyon Bay which to the East leads to the magnificent promontory of Gribben Head.
The great sweep of St Austell Bay play host to a vivid range of scenery, spectacle and activity. The location makes a natural touring centre, within an hours drive of most major attractions in the county.
Across the water, tucked into the hillside between Par and Fowey is the small, picturesque harbour of Polkerris with its sandy beach from where you can hire a boat or pedaloe and explore the Bay.
Heading west leads to the historic Port of Charlestown. Little has changed since its completion in 1795 and its visitors centre, restaurants, family pub and glorious backdrop of Tall Ships in the harbour make Charlestown a favoured location of film and television producers.
