Derek has travelled to some of the most exotic and inaccessible regions of East Africa, Arabia (Yemen and the Oman), the Far East (Brunei) and down to Australia. Meet at Churchtown Farm car park (NT). Route 1: from Lostwithiel, take road SE to Lerryn, Penpol, Pont and Churchtown Farm. Route 2: from St Austell (A390), take A3032 to Fowey and ferry to Bodinnick, then road to Whitecross, Pont and Churchtown Farm. SX 145515
Visiting the farm in the morning, we look at organic farming methods, geological sites and the possible return of the barn owl. After a picnic lunch, at 2.00pm we check out signs of wildlife - bats possibly - in the nearby churchyard.
