Accommodation
Barn Croft is a semi-detached holiday cottage of traditional Cornish construction. Thick stone walls (some over a foot thick) are interspersed with brick and wood, exposed wooden beams and wooden floors. We believe it was previously used in the late 19th century as a barn, just as the name might suggest, and converted into living accommodation in the 90 s.
On the ground floor are the living/dining room, kitchen, hall and bathroom. The kitchen has modern Hygena units, work surfaces and sink. It is well equipped with an electric cooker, hob and extractor fan together with a fridge, microwave cooker, electric kettle and toaster. There is a full range of cutlery, cups, saucers, plates, dishes and cooking utensils. A washer/dryer is located in the utility cupboard under the stairs.

Porthleven
Porthleven is very picturesque and has several excellent restaurants, cafes and pubs. It has a small harbour with a deep sea inlet that is protected by three sets of granite walls. The sight and sound of the sea gently lapping on the shore is idyllic. Porthleven is quite popular with artists, painters and photographers, TV crews and news reporters. Porthleven harbour is about a 5 minute walk from Barn Croft. Impressive views of sea waves crashing over the harbour walls in rough weather can be had from the The Ship Inn. Porthleven beach is just around the corner from the harbour. It is beautifully sandy and stretches out towards Looe Bar and the Lizard. It is superb for swimming, paddling or just lazing in the sun.
There are a tremendous variety and number of attractions and activities all year around in Cornwall. If you are looking for ideas or something different we suggest that you browse the leaflets, magazines and books under the TV. Please feel free to use the books and maps in Barn Croft to find out more about Porthleven and the surroundings.
The coast around Porthleven is officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Heritage Coast. Furthermore, five local sites have been designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
