Local Area
The Pilchard Press is set in the heart of Newlyn called ‘the Jewel in Cornwall’s crown’ by Rick Stein because of its thriving fishing industry. You will not find fresher and better fish! You can buy straight off the boats or from the fish merchants in the harbour. Newlyn is a traditional, working and extremely friendly fishing village. There are 5 pubs in Newlyn itself!! From the outside seating area, you have the magical sight of St. Michael’s Mount across the bay and stunning views of the colourful harbour where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the fishing boats come and go.
Mousehole, famous for its winding cobbled streets stuffed with fishermen's cottages and Christmas lights is a few miles west and Penzance a vibrant town looking out to St. Micheal's Mount is a few miles east. Both are easily walkable along the coastal path.
