Accommodation

The apartment has a smart, fully fitted spacious kitchen with breakfast bar, a separate dining area set within the 23ft x 20ft lounge whose double picture windows present those stunning panoramic views. Sleeping six in total, two of the bedrooms have super king size beds, with one having those wonderful sea views. The third has twin beds. All bedrooms are en-suite and have fully fitted furniture.

It is located close to the golden sandy beach of Mawgan Porth, which has just been named as the sixth top beach holiday in Europe in 2007 by the Sunday Times. On the other side of the beach are pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. Padstow, Newquay and the Eden Project are within easy reach. Golf and coarse fishing are nearby.

Availability is weekly from Easter until October inclusive. The accommodation is non smoking and no pets. Prices from £505 to £1215 per week.

Local Amenities

It's only a five minute walk from the quiet location of Carne Crest to the wide and sandy award winning beach of Mawgan Porth.

A few minutes walk across it (or drive and park) brings you to the village and its amenities, which include Betty's the newsagents which sells beach accessories and souvenirs. Next door is the delicatessen and supermarket in the old Mawgan Porth garage.

The licensed Beach Cafe serves up delicious hot and cold food to eat in or take away, as well as a great choice of ice creams and drinks. In the evening this becomes the Fire restaurant. Across the little river bridge is the fish and chip/pizza takeaway. Next door is

The Merrymoor pub and restaurant which is situated right opposite the beach. It has lovely views for you to take in whilst you enjoy great and reasonably priced food. There is also a large garden where you can eat outside and where the children can play.

Opposite the beach is a car park set back out of sight, but just a two minute walk away, allowing easy access to all the amenities.

A little walk up the hill away from the beach is Bre Pen Farm shop selling home made and locally produced goods and which displays many pictures by local artists in its adjacent cafe.

A drive of four miles north east towards Padstow brings you to St. Merryn, where you'll find a post office, two small supermarkets, a newsagents and a surf shop. Alongside these is a Chinese takeaway, a petrol station and garage with a hardware shop attached, a bakery and cafe and across the road is Ripleys exclusive restaurant for which you will need to book in advance. Around the corner is Prynns restaurant, which is next door to the Farmer's Arms and serves restaurant and bar meals. Further along from here is the Doghouse restaurant and wine bar.

Fryer Tuck's fish and chip shop completes these local amenities. This is, in our opinion, the best in the area. If you wish to eat in rather than take away your food, there is a pleasant free indoor seating area, available adjacent to the shop and which seats approximately thirty people.
