Six self catering holiday cottages near Looe & Polperro, Cornwall

Welcome to Cartole Cottages. If you are looking for something different from the often uniform rows of purpose built holiday cottages you will find it here, tucked away in the heart of the countryside. Our nearest neighbours are half a mile away, you can relax in the peaceful surroundings and comfort of your own cottage.

In 2008 we installed a lovely hot-tub situated in its own summer house and a childrens' adventure playground.

Centrally located for easy exploration of Cornwall and Devon, we are for those who appreciate the countryside and its wildlife; from the cattle and sheep grazing over the garden fence, the buzzards, songbirds and regular evening visits by the owls, to the nocturnal ramblings of the hedgehogs, badgers and foxes, its all here to be seen - if you have the patience.

The cottages were converted from the barns of Cartole Farm and as many of the original features have been left intact, each cottage has a shape and identity entirely its own. This, with beamed ceilings and some walls of exposed original stonework, combine with our comfortable furnishings and many homely little additions, to make a holiday home full of character. All our cottages have fitted carpets throughout and are fully heated either by storage heaters or central heating, which is on from mid September to mid May.
