| The Cottage
and Farmhouse nestle in a valley bottom in a very quiet spot, an unspoilt and
uncommercialised part of Cornwall. They overlook a large garden with a lake with
the added attraction of a swan and ducks. The farm together with other local farms
are involved in a nature conservation programme to encourage wildlife such as
badgers, bats, buzzards and many other species. The farm is approximately 100
acres and is mixed, with a beef enterprise, cows and calves and we grow corn.
The farm is in an area designated of outstanding natural beauty. For those interested in walking and bird watching the coastal footpath will take you to the fishing village of Porthallow and beyond and to Gillan and St. Anthony where locals and visitors enjoy a wide range of sailing activities. Views across the bay to Falmouth, St. Mawes and coastline all the way to Plymouth are truly spectacular. Lestowder Cottage and Farmhouse are near the Helford River and (Daphne du Maurier's) Frenchman's Creek, and twelve miles from Helston - the town of the furry dance. The farm is approximately forty miles from the Eden Project which is well worth a visit. We are also near Roskilly's which is locally famous for its wide variety of ice creams, jams and chutneys. You can also enjoy viewing the farm animals and wildlife ponds. Car parking is available beside each property and public transport is approximately one mile away. The water supplied is our own which is well water. If there are any special requirements needed please do not hesitate to contact me and ask. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me. Cheques should be made payable to Mrs. Janet Martin. |
