The Breton cottage is constructed of stone and has been recently renovated. The marriage of old and new works well to give both modem convenience and an air of tranquillity. The cottage is nestled in the heart of Brittany's beautiful countryside and yet perfectly positioned between two small villages, Plevin and Motreff, which have restaurants, bars, churches and grocery shops selling freshly baked baguettes and croissants. The larger towns of Carhaix and Gourin are approximately 5 mins. They are both market towns with large supermarkets, extensive shops and swimming pools. |
| The
area is ideal for water sports, with the safe sandy beached swimming Lake
du Corong only a short distance. There is an extensive area surrounding
the lake which is perfect for sunbathing, an energetic hike, canoeing, sailing,
refreshments, snacks and play area. The Nantes to Brest canal runs close
to the lake and winds through our surrounding countryside, ideal for walking,
fishing and cycling. Our central location enables you to visit all 3 coastlines,
famous chateaux and many picturesque villages in a short distance. Roscoff
and St. Malo are our closest ferry ports and Brest the nearest main airport. The entrance to the cottage is along a private drive. Within the 3 acres are many trees and shrubs, extensive grass fields with seating to enjoy the panoramic views, badminton and volleyball (all rackets and nets provided), a covered barn with a large play area containing further equipment, swings and table tennis. The large garden is enclosed and ideal for children. There are lawns surrounding the cottage with garden furniture, many flower beds and a gas BBQ. The sun shines on the garden until sunset making it a perfect setting for your BBQ's. Inside the cottage there are ceramic tiled floors throughout the ground floor. The lounge features a granite fireplace with a wood burner, ideal for winter evenings, electric thermostatic heaters (also throughout the house), wrought iron chandelier, television, a selection of books and games, leather sofas and a large dining table (seating for 8 people).The fully fitted oak kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, microwave, eye level cooker and hob. There is a bathroom with bidet and washbasin and a separate toilet situated on the ground floor. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms. All have pillows, duvets and bed linen provided free of charge. Bedroom 1 has a King -Size bed with pine furniture. Bedroom 2 and 3 are twin rooms with 3ft beds. There is also a double size sofa bed in the lounge. Should you require a cot and highchair, these can be provided free of charge on request. (Please bring your own cot bedding). The shower room on the first floor with W.C. and washbasin leads off from the corridor which has plenty of storage and additional hanging rails. We also live within the 3 acres so are available for local knowledge, advice and information.
