The Area
South-west Cornwall is a fascinating area of contrasting beauties which words can barely do justice. As close as you can come to a 'foreign' country without leaving England, there are numerous facilities and places of interest for the visitor, to suit every taste. Renowned for its very mild climate, an enjoyable holiday can be had here at any time of year. Its intriguing history, from prehistoric standing stones to now abandoned tin mines, is readily accessible. Whilst there are miles of magnificent, rugged coastline, replete with small coves, there are also plenty of large sandy beaches. Sea trips can be taken to view the coast and observe the seals, dolphins and other marine life. Footpaths and open access areas, many National Trust, abound, so that even at the height of summer, peace and seclusion in stunning surroundings can be found. But there are also numerous indoor and outdoor visitor attractions of great variety for children and adults alike.
