Nankersey Cottage
Set in a pretty row of Grade II Listed Cottages, Nankersey Cottage is just a stone’s throw from the water’s edge in Flushing. The picturesque village of Flushing with its yesteryear feel lies across the water from Falmouth and with its southerly aspect is reputed to have the mildest climate in the country. Flushing has two excellent pubs, shop, passenger ferry and a dog-friendly beach. A ten minute trip on the ferry takes you to Falmouth where a network of passenger boats travelling to Truro, St Mawes, the Trelissick Estate and Helford Passage can be accessed.

There are superb walks out of Flushing including a coastal walk to nearby Mylor Yacht Harbour where there is sailing, boat hire, windsurfing, kayaking, along with a cafe, restaurant and wine bar. Mylor has been declared an official training location for sailing by the 2012 Olympics Committee. The surf beaches on the North Cornish coast are a short drive away or you may choose to go to the calmer beaches on the South coast. Tourist attractions nearby include the Eden Project, Pendennis Castle, Lost Gardens of Heligan, the National Maritime Museum, Trebah Gardens, Gweek Seal Sanctuary, to name but a few.
Accommodation Details
The front door of Nankersey Cottage enters into a terracotta-floored hall with doors leading off to a lounge, kitchen and shower/wc. An attractive turning staircase rises to the first floor. The cottage has a light and spacious feel with its high ceilings and sash windows. The lounge has an open fireplace and window seat. It is comfortably furnished and has TV/DVD/freeview. The bookshelves hold a selection of reading, listening and viewing material.
The well-equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven, hob, microwave, CD/radio/ipod dock, plenty of storage above and below the wooden worktops and opens into a glass-roofed dining area with French doors leading out onto the decked courtyard. This patio is surrounded by high white-washed walls, it gets the afternoon and evening sun and has table and chairs for al fresco dining. A low, narrow door off the dining room enters a ground floor, single bedroom/study. There is a downstairs shower/WC and also a washing machine and tumble drier.

Upstairs, the main bedroom has a five foot bed, plenty of storage plus TV. The twin bedroom has two single beds, please note that these cannot be pushed together. In addition there is a small single bedroom with wash hand basin. A small bathroom with bath and hand shower and WC can be found upstairs. The cottage has accommodation for six but the owners prefer to accommodate a maximum of five people. A travel cot and highchair are provided, guests will need to bring their own cot bedding.
The cottage is decorated in light neutral colours and is one of those houses that has a lovely ‘feel’, which is difficult to describe in words. The village of Flushing has street car parking but Nankersey Cottage has the bonus of the use of a garage situated about 50 metres away which gives peace of mind during busy periods. Alternatively, you can use it to store your kayaks, surfboards, etc.

Additional Information
Bed linen, bath towels, electricity, heating (oil fired central heating) are all included in the rental figure. Please bring your own beach towels. This is a NO SMOKING cottage and guests are asked to refrain from smoking in the cottage.
We understand that some guests may wish to bring their dog with them to enjoy all that Flushing and the surrounding area has to offer. However, the cottage does not have an outside garden to exercise a dog. The patio area is for sitting out and not suitable for leaving a dog. Therefore, we ask guests to be responsible if they bring a dog and be prepared to walk them around Flushing as required. We charge an additional £40 per week for bringing a well-behaved dog. Dog basket, bowls and dog towel are provided.
Changeover during the main holiday weeks is Saturday. Deposit by cheque of 25% of the total amount due is required to secure the booking. The balance is due six weeks prior to the start of the holiday.
