The Granary is the ground floor of a 19th century corn mill and still retains the huge beams, cast iron supporting pillars and massive granite walls of this old industrial building. However, it now offers comfortable self catering accommodation with two en suite bedrooms - one with shower and one with bath, large sitting room and fully equipped kitchen area with electric hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and drying machine. We can accommodate, comfortably, up to five people in the Granary.
There is a small library of books, games and dvds to browse together with maps of the local area to assist you in your explorations.

There is ample, safe parking for two cars, a private sitting out area with barbecue, table and parasol and two acres of grounds to walk in or to exercise your dog. Perhaps you might like to ramble through the primroses and bluebells in the spring or enjoy the foxglove walk in early summer. Wake to the sound of birdsong right outside your bedroom window and experience the varied wildlife in the garden.
The Granary is ideally positioned for visiting the Eden Project, Heligan Gardens, the south coast at Fowey, Gorran Haven or Portloe, and is easily accessible for the north coast beaches - perfect for surfing enthusiasts.
The Granary is available throughout the year for any period from one day upwards subject to availability.
We have tried to leave much of our grounds as nature intended to encourage wildlife - both flora and fauna - you may see foxes and badgers and even the occasional deer whilst you are staying. We ask that all our guests respect the countryside and its code: take your litter home with you, leave gateways as you find them, and consider other people and users, the plants and wildlife, when in the countryside.
The Granary is perfect for two couples or a family group, being totally self contained but is equally suited to one couple, depending on availability. We are able to offer either twin bedded or king size beds in each of the rooms (plus bunk beds for parties of five). Each bed has soft and cosy feather and down filled duvets and pillows and cotton sheets and covers which we hope will contribute to a good night's sleep.

Dogs Welcome and Additional Information
Your dog is welcome - we have ample space for walking/exercising - and make only a small daily charge. We ask that pets are kept out of the bedrooms and not allowed onto the furniture.
Please be aware that we have our own cats and dogs on or around the premises should you have any specific animal allergies. The dogs keep a very low profile but the cats have proved to be very friendly to our many guests. Big Grey Cat and Little Grey Cat pay regular visits to our guests - both rather noisy in their efforts to attract attention. The dogs, too, court attention but are usually persuaded to keep a rather lower profile! The ponies, Gilly and Lily, love to be petted (but no titbits please!) if they are not turned out in the fields... and don't forget the chickens and ducks and the eggs they provide - and sometimes the baby ducklings and chicks to stroke and hold during the summer months. You might even be able to 'adopt' a few chickens whilst you are with us and collect their eggs each day.
There is an outside seating area and a barbecue area for your exclusive use.
We have numerous wild birds as regular visitors to the garden, including woodpeckers, jays, nuthatches, gold finches, tits, blackbirds, collar neck doves, pigeons, a cuckoo, and many more. We encourage our guests to put out food for these resident and visiting birds as they are a constant delight to watch.

Local Area and Things to do
The Granary offers an unusual place to stay, close to the Eden Project, and presents opportunities to either walk or cycle to Eden. There is plenty of history to explore both in the building and outside where you can follow the track bed of the remnants of the Trenance Valley Mineral Line: one of the last lines built by the Great Western Railway to carry china clay from the clay dries to the main line at St. Austell. We also have on site some of the original wagons from the Great Western Era, including a Toad Brake Van and a Syphon G and a Fruit D is expected shortly.
We aim to offer totally flexible booking periods and The Granary is therefore available to rent for any period from ONE DAY UPWARDS. It offers a perfect location for visiting THE EDEN PROJECT, HELIGAN GARDENS, LANHYDROCK HOUSE, CAERHAYS CASTLE (spring time opening only) CHARLESTOWN and the shipwreck centre, FOWEY and the many other beautiful gardens of the South Cornwall area. It is an easy drive to Falmouth and the famous MARITIME MUSEUM and the GARDENS of TRELISSICK, TREBAH and GLENDURGAN. ST IVES and the TATE GALLERY and the wonderful beaches, CAPE CORNWALL and LANDS END for their spectacular situation. The north Cornish coast is easily accessible with its fabulous surfing beaches and many tourist attractions. This is just a small selection of the places close by - we can supply details of many more fascinating destinations.
There are plenty of places in the vicinity offering a huge choice of restaurants to suit every budget should you decide to take a break from cooking.

Booking Information
Cots and high chairs are available if pre-booked. We hope you will find us to be child friendly and there is always a selection of toys/books and dvds in case the weather is not perfect. We can also supply contact details for cycle hire if you prefer not to bring your own bikes.
If total self catering seems a bit like hard work we can also offer (at extra cost) delicious cooked breakfasts with vegetarian options if required Breakfasts are delivered to you at your choice of time, up to 9.30a.m. These need to be pre-booked with at least 24 hours' notice. We try to provide as much organic and/or local produce as possible and the bacon and sausages we offer is from outdoor reared pork when available. The price is realistic and the breakfast is amazing: it includes a fresh fruit selection, fruit juice, cereals, sausages, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, sauté potatoes, fried bread, hogs pudding, toast with homemade jam, marmalade, Cornish honey and as much freshly made coffee and tea as you want. Our vegetarian option is as good! A word of warning: we are occasionally unable to provide breakfasts due to other commitments.
We encourage all our guests to recycle wherever possible - and provide recycling bags for glass, cans and tins, plastic bottles and paper. There is a composter in the garden where guests can put their uncooked vegetable waste. Low energy bulbs are fitted in most light fittings. We are also investigating the possibility of using water to produce electricity in the same way that water was used to power the Mill when it was working but sadly the water wheel is no longer in situ. However, this is a long term project - watch this space!
If you wish to bring your horse or pony we can offer stabling at additional cost. The adjoining trails are for bicycles, walkers and horses so there is plenty of off-road riding as well as quiet roads to enjoy the scenery from horseback. We are also close to a riding stables where you can book a lesson or a hack out if riding is something you have always wanted to experience.
LETTING PERIODS are totally flexible, from one day upwards, and The Granary is available throughout the year. The cost is only £100 per day (with reductions for stays of 6 or more days and for smaller parties) which includes bed linen, towels and electricity – all you have to provide is your own food and liquid refreshment - so contact us TODAY and enjoy a short or long break at the Granary.
