| Welcome to Gear Farm, down in the far West of Cornwall. Ours is a family run farm where we raise a herd of pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle and a small flock of Suffolk sheep. |
| For those looking for somewhere a little bit different to stay while visiting this wonderful part of the world, we have created a special holiday cottage, set within a stunning landscape where the moor meets the sea. The rugged coastline of Penwith is as stunning as it is dramatic. It is classed by many as real Cornwall, with its idyllic coves and ancient history. PS: So sorry - no dogs; we have our own! |

| We've created a very special place to stay in this beautiful rugged corner of Cornwall, set within a stunning landscape of moorland, with the sea for a backdrop. Our cottage is equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable break. We have appealingly furnished the cottage to a very high standard, reflecting the traditional nature of the building. | |||
| The cottage features a beautiful kitchen comprising fitted oven and hob, fridge and dishwasher, leading to a relaxing sitting and dining area. The bedrooms are individually furnished with top quality beds and bed linen, while the bathroom features both bath and shower. The Byre is set on our farm, only four fields away from the famous Gurnard's Head pub and only one mile away from Zennor and the renowned Tinner's Arms. | |||

| Accommodation: Outside porch leads into ground floor entrance hall with lots of space for coats and wellies. Spacious king size bedroom, great bathroom with 6ft bath and shower overhead. Kitchen/dining/sitting room. Around the side of The Byre is a large garden with seating area and possibly the odd sheep! Sleeps two adults (travel cot can be provided). |

| The Farm |
| Gear Farm is a 150acre stock farm rearing Aberdeen Angus and a small flock of Suffolk sheep, set on the edge of the Atlantic on the St Ives to Lands End road. We're very proud of our prize-winning herd of Aberdeen Angus. We moved here in 1995 with commercial AA cattle, but we didn't start the pedigree herd until 1998. Now we run 25 pedigree cows and a commercial flock of sheep. The cows are outwintered on the downs, and all calve outside, with heifers calving at 24 to 26 months. The breeding of the cattle is a mix of Nightingale and Netherton lines which appear to give hardy, productive stock that have the ability to weather the Cornish winters. |

| By Car: Head west out of St Ives on the B3306. We are on the left, between Zennor and The Gurnards Head Hotel. By Train: The main line to Penzance stops at St Erth where you can then catch a train to St Ives which is a short but scenic journey. By Plane: The nearest airports are Newquay (45 minutes) or Exeter (2 hours). |
