The Local Area:
St Just is at the very heart of the ancient and mysterious landscape
of West Penwith, with its prehistoric structures and standing stones,
and the industrial archaeology of several thousand years of tin production.
St. Just is a thriving small town, which since the end of tin-mining
has become a lively centre for artists and has excellent pubs, cafes,
shops, galleries and butcher supplying the best pasties in the area.
No. 16 is a paradise for Bird-watching, Sailing, Surfing, Swimming,
Horse-riding, Rock-Climbing and Walking! The historic Geevor Tin mine
and spectacular rocky coves and cliffs of Cape Cornwall and CotValley
are less than a mile away. Cape Cornwall boasts a golf club and indoor
swimming pool too. The large sandy surfing beaches of Whitesands and
Sennen, Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole are just 10 minutes away by
car. St Ives and the Tate Gallery and the Eden Project at St. Austell
are also within easy reach. |
