3 Norway is a converted former pilchard cellar, situated in what is reported to be the oldest part of St Ives, in the heart of the fishermen’s quarter, Downalong. The surfing beach of Porthmeor is within minutes’ walk, as are The Tate, the celebrated 14th century Sloop Inn, the Harbour and the shops of Fore Street, while the family beach, Portminister, is a five-minute walk along the sea front.

The Property

Ideal for a couple, the property’s open-plan design can offer stylish accommodation for up to four people. A combi-boiler provides central heating and instant hot water. The lower floor opens on to a shared courtyard (with coded entry), while upstairs a door leads to Norway Square Gardens, a sun-trap used for public performances in the Literature Festival in May, and the September Jazz Festival. Duvets, bed-linen and all household towels and cloths are provided (not beach towels, though these are available at additional cost); all utility costs are included. A vacuum cleaner, iron and small ironing board are also provided.
Prices & Availability
3 Norway is available Saturday-Saturday, although alternative bookings (weekends, mid-week stays) will be considered out of season. Smoking and pets are not allowed in the apartment or courtyard area. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
The Accommodation
The kitchen/living area and shower room are located downstairs, with slate floor tiles throughout. The kitchen is very well appointed with large stainless steel sink and walnut worktop, and is generously equipped. Fitted to a high specification, it features gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, toaster and kettle. An expandable table can seat up to four people. At the far end of the room is a comfortable double sofa-bed and flat-screen Freeview TV and DVD player.
The luxurious shower room, with WC, washhandbasin and spacious shower cubicle, is accessed from the living area. A door from the kitchen/living area opens on to the shared courtyard.
A stripped pine staircase leads to the upper floor, with an exposed granite wall and original stripped floorboards. There is a double bed with feature bedhead, and ample drawer and hanging storage. A glass occasional table with two chairs create a small seating corner.
