| Location |
| Blaise Cottage is set within the grounds
of Hendra Lodge, and is one of the old barns that make up the
17th Century farmstead of Hendra. Situated in the heart of Cornwall
in a peaceful and quiet location, the cottage is an idyllic
detached retreat offering comfortable and quality accommodation.
|
|
|
 |
| Our location in the middle of
the County means we are within easy reach of all
that Cornwall has to offer. The stunning Eden Project,
the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Trewithen
Estate are all within 7 miles. The historic port
of Charlestown, home of several old square-sail
ships, and the celebrated fishing villages of Mevagissey
and Fowey are close by. The City of Truro, with
its beautiful Cathedral and granite paved streets
is only 15 minutes drive. |
 |
| Both the North coast, with its
rugged coastline and wide sweeping sandy beaches;
and the smaller coves and harbours of the Roseland
Peninsula to the south are just 12 miles away. The
nearest beach, at Pentewan, is 4 miles distant.
Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor, Lands End and The Lizard
can all be reached in just over 1 hour. |
 |
| Blaise Cottage itself locates
approximately 5 minutes drive from St. Austell,
and 10 minutes from the main A30 at Fraddon. The
quaint villages of Sticker and Polgooth, one and
a half and 3 miles distant, contain two of the best
village inns in the area and local stores. |
|
|
| The myriad of pretty country lanes surrounding
the farmstead of Hendra makes Blaise Cottage the ideal place
for those who enjoy walking, jogging or cycling. For wildlife
enthusiasts, badgers, foxes and hares are often visible, together
with many species of birds including falcons, buzzards, tawny
and barn owls which can be seen frequently at dusk hunting in
our fields. Cows and horses, of course, come as standard in
the surrounding fields here! |
|
