Gaverne is one of the most beautiful coves on the north coast of Cornwall.
In an area largely owned by the National Trust, it is totally unspoilt
and ideal for a carefree, relaxed holiday. Breock is a single-storey cottage in what was the Liberty Fish 'cellar' in Port Gaverne. The cellar is now known as Gullrock, a group of nine cottages around a charming lawned courtyard garden, peaceful and secluded, yet only a hundred yards from a delightful beach which is sandy at low tide and ideal for safe bathing. |

Just 10 minutes walk away is the fishing village of Port Isaac, with a range of shops, hotels and restaurants. Narrow streets tumble down to the harbour where crab and lobster are landed daily in season and sold from the fish cellar. The wide sweep of Port Isaac Bay, with its cliffs and coves, is a paradise for walkers and naturalists. From Tintagel, with its castle and links to King Arthur, to Rumps Point and Pentire Head at the mouth of the Camel estuary, this part of the coast has something for everybody. Just beyond Pentire are the renowned surfing beach at Polzeath and the vast expanse of sand at Daymer Bay, all within a short drive, an easy bus ride or an energetic half-day’s walk. The ferry from Rock provides easy access to the bustling little town of Padstow. The town of Wadebridge is just 10 miles away, and offers a full range of shops, cinema, swimming pool and bike hire for the Camel Trail which runs along the glorious Camel estuary. |
