| Welcome to Pigmoor Cottage - Nancledra nr Penzance |
| Pigmoor Cottage is situated at the head of a secluded,
peaceful valley near the village of Nancledra on the rugged Penwith
peninsular in the far West of Cornwall. It falls within a designated
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is almost completely surrounded
by a Cornwall Wildlife Trust reserve. A former small farm, Pigmoor
Cottage has been sympathetically restored, retaining many original
features and has lovely gardens. Built around 1750, it's name appears
on old ordnance survey maps - wild pigs used to roam the nearby moors.
The environs should appeal to nature lovers. Both north and south
coasts are but 15 minute drive away, as are the towns of St Ives and
Penzance. |

From the house one can walk in any direction with plenty of interesting
things to see: - the moors up behind the house leading to ancient
Iron Age ramparts and a hill-top folly from which both coasts and
St Michael's Mount can be easily seen; down the wooded valley to the
village of Nancledra; old clay works nearby; a farmshop up the lane;
a nearby lake. There are plenty of birds and other wildlife as well
as a wealth of nearby prehistoric archaeological sites. |
| Our house is lived in and not solely a holiday
property. It is only being let for a few months in the summer. We
would prefer to let to people who love the beauty of the countryside
as well as appreciating an old, rustic characterful Cornish cottage. |
