Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station is the largest operational satellite station on earth. A visit to the station on Cornwall's Lizard Peninsula is a truly awe-inspiring experience. Opened in 1962, Goonhilly was one of the first 3 satellite earth stations in the world. There are now over 200 satellite earth stations scattered around the globe and Goonhilly, with a total of 25 operational and development dishes, is the worlds largest. Gweek Seal Sanctury - set in the picturesque Helford Estuary, by the charming village of Gweek, the Sanctury is a rescue, rehabilitation, and release centre for seals. In addition to seals and sea lions, the Sanctuary provides a haven for a variety of other animals, such as donkeys, ponies, and goats. The Helston Furry Dance is one of the oldest surviving customs in the Country, and is a festival to celebrate the coming of spring and the passing of winter. Held annually on the 8th of May, the dance take place in the pretty town of Helston - an old Cornish coinage town.

Lands End is the most westerly point in mainland Britain. An area of stunning, rugged beauty it is a marvellous place to walk along the cliffs, view the Longships Lighthouse, and visit the First and Last House.

The Minack Theatre - built into the cliffs of Cornwall and offering splendid views along the spectacular coastline, the Minnack Theatre is worth a visit even if you don't have the chance to watch a play. Note that the name "Minack" in Cornish means a rocky place! The theatre was created by a remarkable woman, Rowena Cade who, from 1931 until she died in 1983 planned, built and financed this memorable theatre. Visit the Minnack site at www.minack.com/minack

St Michaels Mount - a National Trust property of outstanding beauty that is situated just off the mainland from the town of Marazion. St Michaels Mount is accessible by foot, when the tide is low, by a long causeway. Formerly a Benedictine Priory, a Castle, and home of the St Aubyn family for several hundred years, it is now open to visitors daily during the season.
