| The old granite barn behind
our own house was converted and extended to form a holiday
home for the family and is still under our friendly personal
supervision. It is all on one level in a quiet rural setting
with open country views in all directions, yet it is only
half a mile from the A30 and local shops. St. Michael’s
Mount and the clean, sandy beach at Marazion (Blue Flag)
are less than 2miles. St. Ives, Penzance and the Coast
Path are all within easy reach. |
 |
| Accommodation |
| The accommodation is simple in style
but well equipped and homely. The emphasis is on natural
wood and stone, with open beamed ceilings, but it is also
comfortable and practical. It is self-contained and provides
for up to 4 people. |
| There is a large, sunny, well furnished
Living/Dining Room with TV/DVD-player, Radio/tape/CD
player, books and board games for adults and children.
|
| The spacious main bedroom has
a king-size (5’) bed, wardrobe, bedside cabinets, etc;
the small bedroom a single 3’ bed, with a 2’6”
bed ‘bunk-style’ over it with a ladder. Duvets, blankets
and pillows are provided; bed-linen and towels can be
provided at a small extra charge for laundry. |
| The kitchen has purpose-built
wooden cupboards, a full-size electric cooker with halogen
hob and double oven, a microwave and a fridge-freezer,
etc. The Shower Room includes a washbasin, WC and
heated towel rail. There is a washing machine and tumble
dryer in the garage below. |
|
|
 |
|
 |
|
| Constant hot water, night-store and
instant heaters are all included without charge. |
| There is a secluded garden area
with table and chairs, and open access to our adjacent
field and woodland - popular with nature lovers. The barn
is a ‘smoke-free’ zone. Sorry, no dogs. |
| We are centrally situated in the far
west of Cornwall, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The pretty village of Ludgvan lies mid-way between
St. Ives (for Tate of the West, other galleries,
and surfing beach) on the north coast, and Penzance
(the Rail / Bus terminus and shopping centre) on
the south. Each is about 4 miles away and there is a half-hourly
bus service between the two which stops at the end of
the lane. The RSPB Nature Reserve is nearby and
walkers can easily access the SW Coastal Path at
several points |
| There are numerous safe beaches as
well as surfing beaches with surf schools nearby. NT
properties and gardens include Godolphin Manor;
Trengwainton; Trelissick and Trerice.
Leisure Centres in Penzance and St. Ives have heated
pools. Falmouth (National Maritime Museum)
and Truro (our Cornish capital) The Eden Project
and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are all within easy
reach. |
