![]() Situated above the river and enjoying spectacular views |
Tremerlin is a property dramatically sited above the river and enjoying spectacular views.
This dramatic site is surrounded by National Trust woodland and is accessed by a woodland drive leading down to the 1920's house overlooking the timeless river Helford.
From the Apartment secretive pathways lead away from open flat lawns to glades of magnolia, camellia and honeysuckle, festooning ancient oaks.
Past woodland ponds and tree ferns the property enjoys a splendid quay and slipway of ancient granite. An ideal setting for small boat sailing and exploring the shoreline and tributaries of the Helford River.
The accommodation can sleep 6 as a whole. There is also an exceptional riverside studio that may be included by arrangement.
Bed linen and towels are included but please note there is no telephone, dvd player or television. There is also a trampoline on the south lawn and table tennis in the sun room. Small sailing boats etc can be hired locally and there is an excellent anchorage for large vessels 10 meters off the quay, plus fishing off the quay. We regret that we don't take pets, there's no smoking in the Apartment and changeover is on Fridays.

The Apartment
Tremerlin is built on a slope, so there are two stories on the river side of the house, the lower floor, formerly crews quarters and sail store, have been recently been renovated and enlarged. From a dedicated parking area for two vehicles, a cobbled and grassy pathway leads down to the ground floor apartment.
The apartment has been refurbished using lots of painted tongue and groove boarding, old pine doors, red cedar (reclaimed from an old cider vat) and blue slate. The furnishings, as with the house are an artistic and eclectic mixture, the bed mattresses however, are all new. The accommodation comprises 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, 1 twin bedroom (that can be zipped into a double) with en-suite bathroom, and a small bunk room based on a cabin on the Night Riviera train, all with river views. The kitchen and living area are open plan with fabulous river views, the dining area is in an extended bay window with French doors that lead out onto the patio and veranda. Heating is provided by night storage heaters and a wood/coal stove in the living area.
