| Hayle & St Ives |
|
|
| The small Cornish town of Hayle is situated on the northern
coast on the shores of St Ives Bay, hosting an array of wildlife – a goldmine
for birdwatchers where rare birds can regularly be found on the Estuary.
Beach-lovers will adore Hayle’s ‘3 miles of golden sand’ that encloses the
eastern shores of St Ives Bay. At the northern end of the beach is the island
lighthouse of Godrevy. Behind Govrevy lie dark slate and shale cliffs –
‘Hells Mouth’ and ‘Deadman’s Cove’. Just up the road from here is Tehidy
Country Park where a host of footpaths lie embedded within woodlands where
in spring carpets of Bluebells can be found. |
| Hayle is very popular for the self-catering tourist
with shops and facilities within walking distance of Tolroy Holiday Park.
The nearby ‘3 miles of golden sand’ is ideal for sunbathing, swimming and
surfing during the summer months where you will find Lifeguards regularly
patrolling the beach. |
| Whilst holidaying in Hayle it is a must to visit nearby
St Ives. It is one of the most quaint and attractive towns in Cornwall.
Numerous granite cottages, narrow cobbled streets, all surrounding a picturesque
sheltered harbour. Whilst walking around the town a host of endless sights
can be seen around every corner. St Ives is a major holiday attraction but
also remains a working fishing port where fishermen with their boats are
popular sights for all. |
|
|
 |
Also the town is an Artists haven where you can
visit many art galleries. Then there is the famous Tate Gallery which
was opened in 1993. A memorial and Gallery dedicated to Barbara Hepworth
can also be found where she lived and created much of her work in
a small house.

There are many other things to do and see in Hayle and St Ives including
a visit to ‘Paradise Park’, ‘Jeepers’ go-karting & ‘Pitch & Putt’
to name a few – the choice is endless where there is something for
everyone. |
