The perfect setting for your holiday, the hamlet of West Pentire,
is on a peninsula of land, with two beaches, one either side,
Porth Joke and Crantock Bay. |
| The picturesque village of Crantock with
village Post Office and general stores offering newspapers,
daily needs, beach goods and snacks, are approximately 25 minutes
walk away. There is a supermarket just 10 minutes by car. The
Bowgie Inn is close by and offers a range of good pub food |
| Newquay is just 5 miles by road or 2 miles
across the beach - when the tide is out! |
| There are many places of interest such
as the Eden Project and Newquay Zoo within easy reach by car. |
| West Pentire is ideally placed in Cornwall
for touring the County, that is, if you can tear yourself away
from the charms of this beautiful place. |
| Numerous coastal and country walks over
grassy headlands and National Trust Land are on your doorstep. |

Waves
We are ideally situated for those who like to spend time Winter
Storm Watching. This is truly breath taking to see. |
Crantock Beach
Crantock Beach is a long sandy beach between the twin headlands
of East Pentire and West Pentire. Ideal for surfing, body boarding
beach games or for total relaxation. |
Goose Rock
If you look north across Crantock Beach towards Pentire Head
you will see Goose Rock. |
Polly Joke Beach
The hidden, quiet cove is known locally as Polly Joke Beach
and is a short walk down a footpath from West Pentire, but well
worth it. A further stroll along the coastal path brings you
to the Chicks (Rock) where seals can be seen basking on the
rocks. |
