Carclaze Farm offers outstanding Alastair Sawday listed self-catering accommodation in a quiet rural setting. Four bespoke cottages have been created by converting farm buildings dating back to the fifteenth century, when the property formed part of the Duchy of Cornwall. The cottages are just a few miles from many of Cornwall’s most popular destinations, including sandy beaches at Rock, Polzeath and Daymer Bay, the fishing villages of Port Isaac and Padstow, and the Eden Project.
Owners Allen and Jean Nicholls were born in the area, and have lived at Carclaze Farm for over 25 years, giving them a wealth of local knowledge to share with visitors. They play an active part in the local community, and are only too happy to advise guests on the latest attractions Cornwall has to offer. Children are invited to pull on their wellies and help with the morning feed of the chickens, ducks, geese, goats and sheep residing in the paddock. An outdoor play area for younger visitors is overlooked by a few neighbouring sheep, and occasionally Zippy the friendly farm dog.

Carclaze Farm is set within four acres of grounds incorporating an outdoor children's adventure play area, indoor games room and a farmhouse paddock where guests are invited each day to collect eggs and participate in the morning feed of the chickens, ducks, geese, goats and sheep.
In 1985, Allen and Jean purchased the property and spent a number of years faithfully renovating and restoring the outbuildings - including a grain store and dairy - into four unique self-catering cottages. Allen and Jean live in the adjacent farmhouse and continue to personally run, maintain and manage Carclaze Farm today.
Carclaze Farm dates from around the 15th century when it formed part of the Duchy of Cornwall. In 1954, during its time as a working Duchy farm, the property was visited by Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother (when a new toilet was installed especially for the occasion!).
Carclaze Farm is surrounded by farmland, just outside the beautiful Cornish village of Chapel Amble. The spectacular North Cornwall coastline - with its sandy beaches, fishing villages and dramatic cliffs - is only a ten minute drive away, whilst Bodmin Moor, some of Cornwall's finest National Trust houses, the Eden Project and numerous renowned eateries - such as Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen - are also close by.
