Cadgwith Cove Cottages
Self Catering Holiday Cottages in and around Cadgwith on The Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall
![]() The Lizard peninsula, the most southerly part of mainland Britain |
The Lizard peninsula, the most southerly part of mainland Britain, might have been deliberately designed as an ideal holiday destination. Within just a few square miles it offers sandy beaches, spectacular cliff walks, unspoiled fishing coves, thickly-wooded creeks and inlets, rolling farmland and a wide expanse of open moorland. It is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and you can easily see why. The climate is mild and frost is rare. Daffodils flower as a commercial crop in January and the cliffs and hedgerows are ablaze with wild flowers from February to June. There are spells in October and November as warm as any in midsummer.
Do come to see and enjoy all that this wonderful area has to offer. And try especially to come out of season when the roads are quieter and you will have the beaches and cliffs all to yourself.
If you are looking for a holiday of true old-fashioned simplicity surrounded by scenery of breathtaking beauty, then look no further. Just settle down to the problem of which cottage will suit you best.

Kuggar
DOWNAS COTTAGE Sleeps 4 Discovering all the wonders of the Lizard Peninsula is only one of the pleasures of spending a holiday here. Downas Cottage has the benefit of extremely comfortable accommodation with easy access to some of the loveliest locations in this area. Kennack Sands, a wonderful sandy beach with safe bathing and interesting rock pools, is only a 10 minute walk away. The cottage is actually named after another nearby beach, albeit difficult to find. Downas is one of the prettiest beached around - and worth a steep climb down! You are never far away from the sea and the villages of Cadgwith, Ruan Minor and The Lizard are only a very short drive or slightly longer walk away. This house is newly built but has lots of character; lime washed stone floors and much use of natural wood makes this a very desirable stay, offering all modern facilities with a traditional feel. |
