The Blue Flag surfing beach at Porthtowan is just 4 miles away along quiet country lanes or visit Falmouth's beautiful beaches on the calm South Coast. Pound Cottage is steeped in history and, with the Cathedral City of Truro nearby, is in the perfect location for exploring this beautiful county.

There are four, good sized bedrooms, one double, two single and one twin.

There is a family bathroom upstairs and a separate downstairs shower room with electric shower, great for rinsing off after a day on the beach!

Downstairs there are two reception rooms to relax in; a “snug” with substantial log burner and surround sound music system and a large lounge diner with Freeview television and DVD. This room has triple aspect windows including patio doors opening onto the garden and Pound, ideal for those lazy summer evening barbeques.

The kitchen is fully equipped with Rangemaster cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. The kitchen leads into the conservatory where you can feel part of the garden whatever the weather.

The extensive and beautiful gardens include a secure inner area which surrounds the cottage itself, a walled patio area with barbeque ("The Pound"), a terraced cottage garden and a further orchard and vegetable plot. There is ample off road parking for 4 vehicles.

Being equidistant from both coasts and with easy access to the A30, the Cornish world is your oyster! The stunning north coast beaches are renowned for surfing whilst the quieter south coast is a haven for water based activities. The coastal footpath provides breathtaking scenery cloaked in wild flowers, sculptured trees and offers the chance to see seals, dolphins and even basking sharks!

Such attractions as the Eden Project, Tate St Ives and the National Maritime Museum are all within 40 minutes and for the younger members of the family there is everything from the National Seal Sanctuary to a museum of witchcraft, theme parks, zoos and in and outdoor play areas galore! Why not bring or hire bikes and cycle the coast-to-coast mineral tramway, which passes within a mile of the cottage. A welcome pack, with loads of ideas, awaits you to help you choose!

Chacewater village has an excellent bakery, 2 convenience stores, a post office and 3 pubs, as well as a doctor’s surgery, church and recreation grounds, all within 5 minute’s walk of Pound Cottage.
