Boscastle

Boscastle is famous for its unique harbour which forms a dramatic cleft in Cornwall's Atlantic Coast. Spectacular cliff walks and views around, and yet sandy beaches are only ten minutes away. The whole area is steeped in the atmosphere of old Cornwall and is designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty, much of the land being owned by the National Trust.
The beautiful cliff path from the harbour via Pentargon waterfall take you higher towards Crackington Haven. There are also fine views of the Bristol Channel and Lundy Island whilst making your way onto Bude, ideal for surfers to ride the Atlantic Rollers.
The rivers Jordan, Valency and Paradise flow through the village, the Valency Valley is a fine walk around to the dark and intriguing Minster Church, almost enmeshed by rare trees and shrubs looking for light.
Taking the South West Coastal Path in a westerly direction to Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur. On the shore beneath Tintagel Head where the castle is perched 300 feet above is Merlin's Cave.
An hour before low water, with a rough sea that is, you can see and hear a splendid blow hole rendering water and spray across the harbour mouth.
Local Fishing Trips are available from the harbour.
