| Grove Cottage Bed and Breakfast Cornwall |
| You've just arrived in West Cornwall for your
holiday; you've stepped out of the car, had a bit of a stretch, taken
a deep swig of fresh Cornish air, and listened to the deafening peace
and quiet. |
| You've opened the front door of what will be your
Cornish home for the next week or two and entered the stables, now
the entrance hall, which once housed the ponies and cart to deliver
the local post. |
| You're shown to your room, the hayloft, now the
master bedroom, prettily decorated with Cath Kidston furnishings,
the original A-frame beams and strong granite walls. |
| Or maybe you'd prefer Cartwright's, the original
loft bedroom once reached by a ladder, cosy with a comfy bedstead.
Ivy's overlooks the gardens and enjoys the last rays of the setting
sun, just perfect for those travelling alone or part of a larger group.
|
| Return via the main staircase, once the granite
steps to the hayloft, and now a double storey conservatory, for tea.
That's what Grove Cottage is offering - a real Cornish welcome. |
|
|
| Nestled in the higgledy piggledy hamlet of Trescowe,
once the home of the village Cartwright. The stables, hayloft and
carter's store have been imaginatively restored to create a home with
plenty of ambience. |
| Even new additions like the sitting room with
a rounded end and central wood burner have been designed to fit in
with the local farmsteads. |
| Set in sun all-day cottage gardens approaching
an acre today's home has been carefully converted to retain original
features but add those little luxuries we so love. |
| Refreshed, next morning, you'll be
enjoying food that has never journeyed inside a supermarket
lorry. You'll find milk fresh from cows which graze Cornish
clifftops, eggs laid that morning from a nearby farm,
succulent gammons and bacon for breakfast, all meat sausages,
hand-made bread from 'Promises and Piecrust' using organic
flours; rye, white, granary and wholemeal - Cornish marmalade
on Cornish toast - a great way to start the day! |
 |
| Located just a mile from Godolphin
House (grade I medieval Cornish manor house with National
Trust walks) and the beach and coastal footpath at Praa
Sands. Grove Cottage is central to explore all of West
Cornwall, yet away from all the hustle and bustle. |
