Halcyon is an attractive granite house overlooking St Michaels Mount and the beautiful Mounts Bay.

Our relaxing holiday destination is situated between the town centre and Eastern Green Beach, convenient for coach and rail stations. We have free parking in the square. We offer a personal service in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Enjoy your meals in our cosy dining room, all served at separate dining tables. A breakfast menu is provided (including a full English breakfast).

The Halcyon is decorated and furnished to a high standard. All bedrooms are en-suite, with colour TV, tea/coffee trays, hairdryers. Centrally heated throughout.

Tariff
Halcyon is open from the end March to September. All rooms are en-suite.
Daily from £30 per person
Weekly from £200 per person
Children half price if sharing a room with two adults.
There is no service charge or VAT.

Mid-week bookings and short breaks are available, particularly early and late season

Mounts Bay
 Mounts Bay has been officially acclaimed as one of the "Most Beautiful Bays in the World". It is praise that is richly deserved by this vast stretch of glittering water and its spectacular coastline that runs in a great arc from Land's End to Lizard Point. At the heart of the inner bay lies the magnificent St Michael's Mount, a rocky island crowned by a romantic castle with a vibrant history. On the shores of Mounts Bay lies the ancient Marazion, Newlyn and Mousehole, each one rich in Cornish tradition and colour.

How To Find Us
Arriving at Halcyon by Car:
Follow the A30 through Cornwall to the Tesco Roundabout on Eastern Green as you approach Penzance, Use the left lane signed for Penzance Town Centre Take the second turning on the right. Immediately turn right again into a private road: we are situated on the left.
Arriving at Halcyon by Train:
Penzance is well served by trains from destinations throughout the mainland with connections from Europe via London. Halcyon is a short distance from the terminus.
Arriving at Halcyon by Coach:
National Express coaches connect Penzance with most mainland destinations. Halcyon is a short distance from the coach station.

Halcyon is ideally situated as a base for exploring the delights of West Cornwall with its many beaches and sandy coves for relaxing and swimming, or for the more energetic the wonderfully rugged coastline and coastal walks taking in the breathtaking scenery, antiquities and rolling moors.

Penzance
Penzance is the sunniest and friendliest of West Country towns and a gateway to the mysterious Lands End Peninsula the most inspiring region of Celtic Britain. The towns busy harbour is filled with moored yachts and pleasure craft and within its granite walled dock larger fishing boats and commercial vessels load and unload. Close to the harbour is the unique Trinity House National Lighthouse Centre with its fascinating exhibitions and displays. Beyond the harbour is the open air Jubilee Bathing Pool designed in a nostalgic art deco style. From the Jubilee Pool, Penzances famous promenade, the longest in Cornwall, runs along the Mount's Bay shoreline.

Penzance is an ideal town to explore on foot. The main street is Market Jew Street, a busy shopping area with a flanking terrace that leads gently uphill to the handsome classical building of the Market House. Behind Market House is Market Place from where the other shopping streets of Causewayhead and Alverton street lead off. From here also, the olde worlde Chapel Street winds down between attractive buildings that include the lavishly painted and ornamented Egyptian House, the 14th century Turks Head Inn, the Admiral Benbow restaurant and the final flourish of the tall tower of the Church of St Mary the Virgin.

Penzances south facing aspect and mild climate has nurtured the sub-tropical Morrab Gardens and the peaceful Penlee Memorial Park. Both lie between the centre of the town and the seafront. The refurbished Penlee House Art Gallery and Museum in Penlee Park has an outstanding collection of works of art and has archaeological and local history sections. The Cornwall Geological Museum at St Johns Hall in Alverton Street has one of the best geolocial displays in Europe as befits a town at the historic centre of Cornish mineral mining.
