situated on the north Cornish coast is approximately 8miles from Penzance and
is famous for its quaint cobbled shopping streets, picturesque harbour and four
golden sandy beaches, Porthmeor beach being re-known as one of the finest surfing
beaches in the UK and Porthminster one of the safest. St Ives is also famous for
its artist’s colony with lots of interesting studio’s and is home to the Tate
Gallery. St Ives boasts some of the finest restaurants serving a vast range of
top quality seafood and local produce. Locally there are many leisure facilities
to include: - a large indoor sports/leisure centre, tennis, bowls, putting, undersea
diving lessons, horse riding, 18-hole golf. Fishing trips and of course delightful
coastal walks. Should one wish to travel further a field there are dozens of quaint
picturesque fishing villages to explore and many major attractions within a short
car journey, ‘The Eden Project’, ‘open air Minnack Theatre’, ‘Falmouth Maritime
Museum’ and ‘Lands-End’ to name but a few.
