loved the welcome pack, a crusty loaf, a very palatable bottle

the trees. Great to have cleaning materials provided and an
initial stock of tea, coffee, salt and pepper. You have provided

virtually limitless; combined with the outstanding local fresh

I would just like to say thank you for sending us the photographs
you took of David. May I also thank you for the wonderful
hospitality you showed us on our holiday, you made us feel
so welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the flat, it

nice to have the little garden area for sitting out in and
David particularly enjoyed the bird watching in the surrounding

This is just a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay with
you. I have been back at work for 3 days now and one of my
workmates said to me today"you haven't stopped smiling since
you got back- it must have been some holiday!" I think that
says it all. I think one of the best parts of the holiday
was coming back after a day's sight seeing and just relaxing
in our lovely garden, listening to the birds and rustling
trees. Thank you for taking us under your wing and making
our holiday the best ever. We are busy planning our next holiday

Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We have had an excellent
time. We really appreciated the lift from the airport, it
was a great stress free way to start our holiday. You have
been great, so helpful and welcoming. We couldn't have asked
for anything more. The flat is perfect and you provided us
with everything we could have asked for, from advice, lifts
and even onions! The area is beautiful and we have enjoyed
taking in the bars, shops and cafes as well as enjoying walks
and trips out. You have a lovely place and we plan to return
soon, only with a car so we can explore further still.

La Desirade. We found the walking and cycling virtually limitless
with the good bikes which you supplied. We have returned home
more than impressed. Your apartment was clean and well equipped.
Certainly plenty to see and do in La Rochelle, it is a most
beautiful city. Being picked up and put back to airport was
of great assistance. Finally we would like to say Alan and
Tove do their job far above and beyond the call of duty. Value
for money excellent.

It was great to have the use of 2 bikes while staying at
La Desirade both for exploring the surrounding villages and
for getting the buzz of cycling over the beautiful bridge
to the Ile de Re. Its free for cyclists and quite expensive
for motorists. We had lunch on the island and cycled back-
a bit of a challenge but not too heroic and certainly possible
for averagely confident cyclists.

Alan and Tove are excellent hosts, very welcoming. The flat
was immaculate and well equipped. On Tove's advice we visited
Saintes and had a lovely day. The fish market in Fouras was
interesting and had some unusual items. We went with Alan
to a firework display held for Bastille Day in La Rochelle.
It was fantastic and we also had a walking tour in La Rochelle
with Alan. Thanks for a memorable holiday.

Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable and letting
us share your home. It was good to have English TV and a WIFI
connection available to use. The flat is in an excellent position
for beaches ports, Ile de Re, etc. Also thank you for your
generous hospitality and help over the little matter of a
"Stop" sign! It was lovely to meet you both and we thoroughly
enjoyed the home grown vegetables you gave us.

we bombarded you with on our arrival. We would love to stay

had everything (and more) that we needed and the bottle waiting

We enjoyed a great two weeks staying in Alan and Tove's flat
in September. The accommodation with its own patio is ideal
for a couple. The owners offer far more than the use of a
holiday home. They are very welcoming without being intrusive.
We have no hesitation in recommending a stay at La Desirade
in this lovely part of France.
